Introduction
English is such a platform
which is used in the whole world, without right knowledge of English; we can
not compete with the world. There are many different properties and methods to
learn English Language. We will learn them one by one. Today we will discuss
about the most important part of English “The Verb”. There is a major role of
Verbs in English. Any Sentence of English can not be completed without Verb.
Verb Definition is
very simple. To state the work in a Sentence, we use Verb or in other words Verb shows the work in the Sentence. Verb is
such a property of English which is most compulsory. Without Verb every
Sentence is incomplete. Even if there is used only one word in the Sentence, it
can not be any other but Verb. Here are some Verb Examples are given

Those Verbs which are used for action
is called Action Verbs just like the above.
If there is used more than one word in
a Sentence, there must be at least one Verb.
Examples of Verbs:

The words those are
underlined show the Verb in the Sentence. There are two types of Verbs.
1) Intransitive Verb
The Verbs that give
the meaning with its followed Subject is called Intransitive Verbs.
Example:
He runs.

Alia Laughed.

It is raining.
|
2)
Transitive Verb
The Verbs that give
the meaning with its followed Subject; but it also needs an Object to complete
the Sentence is called Transitive Verbs.
Example:
The Cow eats Grass
|
We bought a new car.
|
They tore the book.
|
There are some
Transitive Verbs which need two Objects to complete the Sense.
Example:
I gave him a book.
|
Sunny will teach us English.
|
Three Forms of Verb
There are different Verb Forms which is
used according to the requirement of the Sentence. Different forms of Verb give
Different meaning in a Sentence. Use of the right form of the Verb at right
time is most important thing in English Language.
1st
Form of the Verb is called Present form and
commonly used in Present and Future Sentences.
2nd
Form of the Verb is called past form and
commonly used in Past indefinite Sentences.
3rd
Form of the Verb is called Past Participle
and commonly used in Perfect tenses and Passive Voice.
There is another form of the Verb which is called 4th Form sometimes. This
form is made by adding ‘ing’ at the last of the Verb just like watch becomes
watching.

Regular Verb
Regular Verbs are
those Verbs in which we add d, ed or t to make their 2nd and 3rd forms. Just like
hate, work, built etc. These Verbs are also called Weak Verbs.
Irregular Verb
Irregular Verbs are
those Verbs in which we don’t add d,
ed or t to make 2nd and 3rd forms. We have to some
other changes in them. Just like feed, arise, tell etc. These Verbs are also
called Strong Verbs.

Work in the Sentence is called Verb.
Example: Maria is plucking
the flowers. Under lined word shows the Verb.
Those Verbs which does need object to
complete the Sense is called Intransitive Verb.
Those Verbs which need object to
complete the Sense is called Transitive Verbs.
1st form of the Verb is
called Present, 2nd form is called Past and the 3rd is
called Past Participle.
To make other forms we add d, ed
or t in some verbs, are called Regular
Verb.
To make other forms we don’t add d, ed
or t in some Verbs, are called
Irregular Verb.
Regular and Irregular Verbs are called
Weak and Strong Verbs respectively.
