A.D. The names of the Tribes were The Angles, The Saxons and The Jutes. Their
languages were very similar. At that time the Britain people spoke the Celtic
Language. The Angles tribe came from “Englaland” (which is now called England)
and their language was “Englisc” which is now pronounced as English.
History of Old English

Britain people were forced to accept the rules of the Germanic tribes so the
Language too. Which is now called Old English Language. There is a lot of
difference between today’s English and Old English. There would be many
difficulties to understand the Old English for the new Speakers of English. When
Old English History Timeline came to end, the Modern English took place of it. Most
of the words in Modern English language have been derived from the Old English.
Comparison between Old English and Modern English
At the end of the Old English Language the History
of English Language changed and the Modern Language took place of it. There is
a lot of dissimilarity between both languages. There is the difference of
English Vocabulary; there is the difference of words pronunciation, but the
major difference is the vowels, the words became shorter and shorter with the
help of the vowels, and here the History of English Grammar started. Now the
Modern English is developing day by day and have became the language which is
used mostly in the world.
