Object

Introduction
When we try to learn English, we should try to learn Basic things of English Language. English is a very wide language and there are a lot of grammar rules of English, no one can learn English directly, and it can only be done step by step. Firstly we should know the Basic things of English Language. There are three basic building blocks of English Sentence
Object
1) Subject        2) Verb            3) Object
Today we will discuss here Object.

What is an Object
Object Definition is very simple. The thing that is acted upon by someone or the thing at which the work is done is called Object. It is not necessary that every Sentence contain the Object. There are some Sentences which can be made without Object but there are many Sentences that can not complete their sense without Object. It is compulsory to use Object in them.

Example:
1)
I am eating food.
2)
You are watching Movie.
3)
Robbers looted the Bank.
4)
He was not Playing Football.
5)
Maria slapped Sunny.
Objects are shown with underlined words.
There are two kinds of Objects 1) Direct Object       2) Indirect Object

Direct Object
What is a Direct Object? The Objects that are directly connected with the Verb is called Direct Object.
Example:
Harry gave his wife some flowers.
This Sentence has two Objects (wife and flowers) and one Verb ‘give’. The Verb ‘give’ is directly connected with the Object ‘flowers’, because in this Sentence the work of giving the flowers is being done, that’s why ‘flowers ’ are the Direct Objects in this Sentence.

Indirect Object
What is an Indirect Object? The Objects that are indirectly connected with the Verb is called Indirect Object.
Example:
Harry gave his wife some flowers.
Similarly this Sentence has two Objects (wife and flowers) and one Verb ‘give’. The Verb ‘give’ is directly connected with the Object ‘flowers’ and Indirectly connected with Object ‘wife’ because Harry is giving flowers and his wife is the receiver of the flowers.

Summary
Object
The thing that is acted upon by someone or the thing at which the work is done is called Object. Example: She was going to School.
There are two kinds of Objects. 1) Direct Objects     2) Indirect Objects

Direct and Indirect Object
Direct Objects are those Objects which are directly connected with the Verb.
Indirect Objects are those Objects which are indirectly connected with the Verb.
Example:
She gifted her friend a watch.
The Object ‘watch’ is Direct Object and Object ‘friend’ is Indirect Object.
